For individuals and families in California and Ohio, Nationwide offers three different PPO plan options. PPO (preferred provider organization) plans allow you to see any doctor you like, but carry higher benefits and lower cost to you when you visit a doctor from within the company's provider network. Here are some details of Nationwide Health Plans family coverage:
* LifeStyle Series Health Plan - These high deductible plans, between $2,500 and $5,000, offer 100% coverage after the deductible. Benefits are comprehensive, including regular doctor visits and emergency/hospitalization services. As an added bonus, the deductible is waived for your first four doctor visits.
* PPO Choice Saver Plus - This PPO plan has similar benefits to the LifeStyle series plans, but includes the option of using a health savings account (HSA) to finance your health care. HSAs allow you to bank your deductible until it is needed, earning interest, with no tax penalty for withdrawals used to pay your deductible.
* PPO Choice 25 - This plan gives you a range of deductible options, from a low $750 to $5,000. Benefits are similar to both PPO Choice Saver Plus and the LifeStyle Plans.
Other Plan Options
In addition to these offerings , Nationwide Health Plans also offers short term coverage for those moving between group plans or graduating college. Benefits of these short term plans are comparable to their other PPO offerings.
