Family Health Insurance Options from Medica Health Plans
Plans currently offered to families include:
Medica Direct Value: This comprehensive plan carries with it a healthy choice of deductibles, ranging from $150-$5000. Once the deductible is met, Medica pays for 80%. Prescription drugs, well-child visits and immunizations, chiropractic, hospitalization and preventive care is standard with the plan. Pregnancy is covered after a twelve-month waiting period, and optional mental health and substance abuse coverage is also available. Note that there is a separate $250 deductible with the $500 plan for prescription drug coverage.
SelectCare PPO: This PPO plan offers the same coverage as Medica Direct Value health plan, without the limitations. Enrollees choose their own physicians. They are automatically enrolled in Chiropractic and Substance/Mental health networks, and allowed to choose case management or retrospective review options.
SelectCare PCP: This plan is a cross between a PPO and an HMO; members select a primary care physician, who then refers the enrollee to a specialist if need be. Hospitalization, well-visits, enrollment in the mental health network, it is all similar to the other plans. They too choose if they would like to receive case management service.
Additional Health Insurance Options from Medica Health Plans
Medica Health Plans also serves their members with a consumer-driven plan, the Medica Direct HSA. This HDHP plan offers the same basic coverage as the Direct Value, except it works through a savings account. In addition, it offers optional short-term coverage, and optional vision or dental coverage.
