Intermountain Health Care has been serving residents of Utah and Idaho for decades. As a non-profit agency, Intermountain's many programs help well-off and impoverished alike. Among the awards they have been afforded since the beginning of the 21st century--they have been voted as America's number one integrated health system by Modern Healthcare magazine. Intermountain Healthcare also offers families plenty of options when it comes to keeping their loved ones healthy. Their coverage plans vary in deductible and premium costs, leaving no one out of the mix.
Family Health Insurance Options from Intermountain Healthcare (IHC)
Plans currently offered to families include:
HMO Product: There are three options of coverage here: the Select Value, Select Med, and the Select Care. Each offers a different coverage base and a wider hospital choice. As in other health management organizations, members must choose network doctors unless out-of-state or in an emergency. Hospital, preventive and well-child visits are covered.
PLUS Product: This plan is an HMO with a POS option to allow members to use non-network doctors for reduced benefits. There are three options with this plan as well, each higher plan allowing a larger network base of hospitals.
Premier product: All hospitals in the Intermountain network are available for these members, and the entire state of Utah is included in the coverage area, unlike the others which limit their areas of coverage. Hospitalization, well-visits and preventive services are standard coverage.
Intermountain Health recently changed its name to SelectHealth, giving members a new look and new extended customer service hours, although they keep the same customer service. The insurance company will continue to offer discounts on such things as health club memberships, eye-wear, hearing aids, and nutritional supplements.
