Group Health Cooperative has been providing the residents of Dane County, Wisconsin health coverage for more than 30 years. They opened their doors on March 1, 1976 as a not-for-profit HMO. Option 1: There is no deductible for this plan. Co-pays pay for office visits and emergency room visits. In-patient and out-patient coverage is available, as is mental health hospitalization, office visits, well-child and vision exams (under 17-years old only).
Option 2: This plan has a $500 deductible. A 20% co-insurance covers most services; Mental health and substance abuse is covered in full; this plan also offers up to $500 for well-child, immunizations, vision, Mammograms and other screenings. Outpatient preventive services package is included.
Option 3: $1000 deductible offers the same coverage as Option two, but with lower out-of-pocket expense.
*All plans boast no lifetime maximum and optional prescription drug coverage.

Group Health Cooperative also offers members access to the HSA individual plan. Add to that GHC's other member benefits, including access to a conversion plan (for those who are about to lose group coverage and may be turned down for normal coverage due to a pre-existing condition), membership in a complementary wellness center with tai chi, massage and acupuncture, and optional dental coverage, and Group Health Cooperative seems to have its families covered.
