over 60 years. Today they are the region's largest provider of health
care management products. BCBS of Western New York also
teams up with the state government to offer low-cost
or free health care to eligible residents.

Plans
Blue Cross Blue Shield Western New York's
plans for individuals and families are run in conjunction
with a state-sponsored benefits program. Eligible residents
and their families are placed in either the Family Health
Plus or Child Health Plus programs. These programs administer
full benefits at little or no cost to the customer.
Eligibility requirements have to do with income level
and residence status. These plans are HMO (health management
organization) plans in which customers see a primary
care physician who coordinates their health care needs.
